Unique Meets Uniform at the Corner of 24 and 70

A self-proclaimed take charge person, Carra Christensen is ready to own a business.

She follows her dad, a textbook self-starter, as she transforms her long-standing nursing career into an online and retail uniform business that fills a gaping hole for Carteret County.

The CNC Uniform brand is built on high-quality scrubs, shoes and accessories that compliment every individual style, body type, and personal budget for the diverse workforce that provides health care in our community.

As she builds her inventory at a bricks and mortar location in Morehead City (the only one in a 50-mile radius), Christensen also creates longer- term agreements with local health care facilities, medical practices, and salons.

Customized embroidery is an attractive feature she offers.

A few years ago, Carra immersed herself in courses specific to her industry like “Scrub Boss” and “Scrub Shop Academy.”

The local guidance through Carteret Community College led her to First Rung, and Carra now has a cash flow model that is positively impacted by the micro-loan made in April 2022.

Carra’s oldest son serves as a key employee, and the family legacy of “hard work – no excuses” continues.

First Rung funds were used for inventory, signage, and online marketing.
